Foraging at Agro Food Park
Join us on an exploratory walk to discover the wild plants and trees found along the paths around Agro Food Park. You will learn to identify and forage common species such as dandelions, daisies, fleawort, yarrow, rosebay willowherb, and clover, as well as trees including willow, hawthorn, maple, and oak.
Along the way, you will explore both historical and modern uses of these plants in food, drink and natural remedies, and consider their potential as sustainable ingredients. You will taste what you gather and gain inspiration for using these ingredients in the kitchen - from salads and seasonings to fermented products and innovative foods.
You will begin with a short introduction at PLANT, followed by a walk of approximately one hour. The event concludes with a tasting of the day's foraged plants. The foraging is led by chemist, supertaster and flavour expert Lisbeth Ankersen, who is well known here at Agro Food Park and based at Haystack.
